Anaya Thukral

Organiser

Anaya is a 17 year old in her first year of IB. Her continuous will to learn new things helped her naturally find a passion for TED at a young age. She was fascinated by the innovative ideas people shared and her interest only grew from there. She was first involved with TEDx in 2018.  When she’s not cracking jokes that only she finds funny, Anaya enjoys exploring the arts, watching numerous TED talks, and photography. She is also too familiar with the concept of stress baking. Through this event, Anaya aims to provide a platform for ‘ideas worth spreading’ as she takes the position of organiser. Given that she has extensive knowledge of TEDx, Anaya will be responsible for overseeing the event and hopes to make it an evening worthwhile.

Ananya Dhaka

Operations

Ananya is a grade 11 student and is 17 years old. She has always been a curious kid who wouldn't take no for an answer, her knack and inquisitive nature is what got her interested in TEDx and she has been devoted to it ever since. She was also a part of our very own TEDxyouth@OFS in 2018. Having attended more TED events than you can count on your hand and watched more talks than any normal 17 year old should, she was more than willing to be this year’s Operations manager. She claims that her biggest mistake in life was taking HL Chem in IB. Apart from scrolling through TikTok for hours and being socially awkward the rest of the day, Ananya is an avid reader and honestly, it is hard to find her without a Starbucks and a book in her hand. When she isn't burning down her house with her latest cooking expedition, she occasionally writes as well. In her junior year of high school, she is aiming to make as much of a positive impact on the people around her as she can and hopes to see you at our event this year :)

Riya Singh

Event Management

Riya is a Grade 11 student, known for surviving IB without coffee . She has always been passionate about organising events and TEDx is a perfect way for her to pursue her passion and bring it to life. This is also a way for Riya to develop her leadership and organisational skills, helping her pursue a career in business in the future. Being a perfectionist, as event management leader, she aims to make sure everything is well, perfect… Aside from TED, she is very passionate about Model United Nations and has been an active part of the program since she first joined in 2015. Outside of school, Riya is an admirer of Bollywood and loves to dance. For those interested, her advice to you is to not be afraid to participate, in any way that you can.

Dishant Tawade

Productions

Dishant is a Grade 11 student who clearly should’ve ordered the IB survival guide. Watching TED Talks throughout middle school, he always felt an interest towards the content that helped him understand current affairs and global issues. Technology, Entertainment and Design, what’s not to like about that. So, here we are introducing him as the Production Manager, ready to plan and organise the event. Apart from TEDx, he is also actively involved in Model United Nations, loves to listen to music that is not from this decade, basketball and finding new ways to procrastinate. For all those who would like to get involved, just believe in your idea and go with it, because as Peter B. Parker says, “It's a leap of faith. That's all it is, Miles. A leap of faith.” (Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse). Other than that, we hope to see you at the event. Thank you!
